Doja Breg Prokupac
A premium wine made from the indigenous Prokupac variety (minimum 90%; with Cabernet Franc and Merlot up to 10%). The vineyard is planted on loose, deep, red soils rich in iron oxides, quartz fragments, and mica — an ideal centuries-old habitat for Prokupac.
After harvest, the grapes are carefully selected and destemmed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature, with maceration lasting 15 to 20 days. The wine ages for two years in French oak barrels and an additional 12 months in bottles before release.
Elegant yet powerful, with a pronounced character and freshness reflecting the mesoclimate where the grapes are grown. Breg Prokupac opens with a rich bouquet of ripe fruit — sour cherry, blackberry, raspberry — and spice. On the palate, it shows liveliness, while hints of tobacco and vanilla add depth. As it breathes, subtle notes of black pepper emerge, giving the wine a savory- spicy edge.
Paired with traditional meat specialties, it offers an exceptional gastronomic experience. Its rich flavor and tannic structure make it a perfect companion to juicy roasted meats such as beef steak and rib-eye, pork ribs with aromatic herbs, and foie gras.
